Underside
This sable moth is certainly one of the most distinctively marked I've ever seen. I'm wondering why I've never seen one before this spring of 2005 - this year they seem to be everywhere. They love to hide on the underside of leaves (behavior common to many moths). I was practically standing on my head while  shooting these, trying not to disturb this wary and flighty beast.
